Alternative Break Application-2014

Thank you for taking the time to fill out an Application for the Alternative Break Program.

Here are some things you should know:

All trips will cost $250 per participant

This is a Drug and Alcohol Free Program (and we will make you agree to that at the end of this application)

Some trips will be camping, and all trips will be getting dirty, doing hard work in the community.

Each participant is required to provide 15 names and address of individuals that will recieve a fundraising letter for the Alternative Break Program.

All applicants will be interviewed

Trips are advertised based on issue-area.  Locations will be announced at the Trip Selection, November 22, 2013 in the Multi-purpose Room in the Student Union.

Trip participants are required to attend the following pre and post-trip meetings.  These meetings are mandatory to participate in the program:

  • Friday, January 31, 3-5pm
  • Friday, February 7, 3-5pm
  • Friday, February 14, 3-5pm
  • Friday, February 21, 3-5pm
  • Friday, February 28, 3-5pm
  • Friday, March 7, 3-5pm
  • Friday, March 14, 3-5pm
  • TRIP: Friday, March 14 3pm-Saturday, March 22, 10pm
  • Friday, March 28, 3-5pm
  • Friday, April 4, 3-5pm

*The Alternative Break Program may be available as a 1-unit credit/no credit course during the Spring Semester.  Regardless of credit, we expect participants to take this as seriously as a class.*

This application has a lot of "Agreements" at the end, if you are under 18 we will need your guardian/parents to sign a paper form before you go on the trip.
