Welcome to the American Medical Student Association Chapter at Georgia State University Chapter! We are ecstatic that you have shown interest and have chosen our organization as your resource for your professional and personal growth while at Georgia State University.
As an AMSA chapter member, you are part of a national organization that is recognized both nationally and locally.
Membership with the American Medical Student Association will provide you with premedical information such as: required classes as a premed, how to prepare for the MCAT, medical school application process, volunteer opportunities, the chance to meet medical doctors and medical school officials, get discounts on books and travel and so much more. We also provide a place to network with fellow students, faculty and staff, as well as premedical and medical advisors, which will help advance your career as a student. American Medical Student Association has helped many students to find their way to medical school and to find out if they actually like fields of medicine or not,
As part of your membership, you will also receive discounts on KAPLAN review courses (10% off ANY course, event, private tutors). For membership intake information of our chapter our officers can be reached in person at AMSA meetings or via email. All important files can be found on the tab called "Files".
You may join AMSA online through Orgsync. To pay your dues you must have a VENMO account and send your dues to ASMA-GSU. It is $25 for the current school year.

The American Medical Student Association is committed to improving health care and healthcare delivery to all people; inform pre-medical students about necessary knowledge regarding medical school and practical aspect of it; promoting active improvement in medical education; involving its members in the social, moral and ethical obligations of the profession of medicine; assisting in the improvement and understanding of world health problems; contributing to the welfare of medical students, interns, residents and post-MD/DO trainees; and advancing the profession of medicine.

If your organization has selective membership, please describe the selection process.
- You may join AMSA of you are Pre-medical or pre-health student (meaning that you want to get into either medical school or a health related school)
- You must have minimum GPA of 3.0 to join AMSA
- You join nation AMSA through AMSA.org in order to get honor cord and attending AMSA national convention
$75 ONE TIME only national AMSA membership fee (valid for 5 years), $15 per semester or $25 a year. This cost includes AMSA t-shirt, graduation cords for seniors and some other benefits that will be shared by the Executive board in detail.
