Southeast Texas Food Bank

Alzheimer's Association
Beaumont Walk to End Alzheimer's Walk on October 12th

  • Volunteers are needed to help set up and take down, hand out water and cheer on walkers

Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas

Volunteer at their year-round program with opportunities including blessings gift shop, office assistants, cancer center, popcorn concession, etc.

Applications are now available for the Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas 2019 Fall Student Volunteer Program.  The deadline to submit completed applications to the Volunteer Services office is 
September 13, 2019 by no later than 5:00 p.m. 

Fall Program Requirements:

-Must be enrolled in the current college semester
-Letter of recommendation from anyone other than a family member (Ex: school personnel, pastor, hospital employee)
-Must complete a minimum of 24 hours and 6 weeks of the 9 week period
-Must participate in a scheduled interview with the Volunteer Coordinator
-Must attend a mandatory orientation on September 23
-Must have 2 Tuberculin Skin tests and flu shot (We will provide them following your interview.)
-Must provide proof of immunizations (MMR/Varicella/TDaP)
-Must complete a background check. Minors will require parental consent.
-Submit a 300 to 600 word essay as part of this online application explaining your interest in volunteering, goals for the future, and what you hope to gain from your volunteer experience.

Each year LU Service connects students to non-profit organizations and government agencies around Southeast Texas at the Service & Volunteer Fair. The fair will showcase a number of agencies for you to speak with and find one or more you are interested in volunteering with.
