Lamar University Homecoming 2015Celebrate Homecoming 2015 by participating in the Homecoming Parade on Saturday, November 7th at 1:00 pm. This year's Homecoming theme is "Cardinal Strong: Past, Present, & Future."

All Lamar University registered student organizations, colleges, & departments are eligible to organize an entry and join in the fun. Plus, we're awarding great prizes for the best floats, most spirited groups, & more!

Registration Form

All entries, even those that pre-registered in the spring, must complete this Parade Registration Form. This form will be open Wednesday, September 2 through Friday, October 9.

Parade Info Meetings

We're having two Parade Info Meetings to teach you everything you need to know about the Parade. Each participating group must have a representative attend one of the sessions of both the September and October meetings.

Homecoming Theme

Lamar University Homecoming 2015: Cardinal Strong - Past,Present, FutureThis year's Homecoming theme is "Cardinal Strong: Past, Present, Future." At Lamar University, we're proud of our Past, living its legacy in the Present, and inventing the Future. What do 92 years of Cardinal Strong mean to you? Show us your very best interpretation of this year's Homecoming theme, and you could 1 of 6 great prizes!

Parade Prizes

We want every student organization to participate in the Homecoming Parade, so we're handing out 3 Best Float and 3 Recognition Awards! Float builders are even eligible to win cash for their student organizations! Prize winners will be recognized at the Homecoming game and on a permanent plaque displayed in the Setzer Student Center.


Grand Champion - $500
2014 Winner - The Department of Biology Student Organizations
President's Award - $250
2014 Winner - Alpha Psi Omega National Theatre Honor Society
Cardinal Spirit - $125
2014 Winner - The Signing Cardinals
A float is defined as a decorated utility, lowboy, or flatbed trailer towed behind a vehicle.


Most Creative

Best Use of Theme
     2014 Winner - Global Lamar: The Office of Study Abroad and the International Student Council
Most Spirited Group
     2014 Winner - The Hispanic Student Association and the Multicultural Greek Council:
     Phi Iota Alpha, Kappa Delta Chi, and Sigma Sigma Rho

Entries may include decorated floats, pick-up trucks, golf carts, convertibles, jeeps, or costumed walking groups. Closed vehicles are not allowed.
