2016-17 Media CSO Leader Application

Application Instructions

The Center for Student Leadership invites students to apply for the positions of KSCU general manager, Santa Clara Review editor, The Redwood editor, and The Santa Clara editor for the 2016-17 academic year. KSCU, Santa Clara Review, The Redwood, and The Santa Clara are 4 of the 9 chartered student organizations (CSOs) at SCU.

Online applications must be completed by 5:00 PM, Monday, February 8, 2016. All application materials must also be submitted by the deadline.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT

Applicants must be in good academic standing with the University. To be in good academic standing, an undergraduate student must be enrolled full time, must maintain a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.0 based on all courses taken at SCU, and must have completed at least a minimum number of units as specified in the Undergraduate Bulletin for acceptable progress toward a degree.

Please review the "Eligibility Policy for Participation in Student Activities" in the Student Handbook for a full description (pages 34-37 of the 2015-16 edition).

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

All parts of the application, including recommendations, are to be completed online EXCEPT the unofficial transcript. Please bring a hard copy of your transcript to your initial interview with the Selection Committee. Your application is not complete if you do not submit your transcript. You may download a transcript online via your eCampus account.

A COMPLETED APPLICATION INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:

(a) This completed application.

(b) An unofficial transcript downloaded from your eCampus account.

(c) One letter of recommendation from a current SCU undergraduate student. Recommendations should be completed online (see link to recommendation form below).

(d) Two letters of recommendation from faculty, staff, or non-affiliates of SCU who are familiar with the applicant. Recommendations should be completed online (see link to recommendation form below).

LATE RECOMMENDATION FORMS

If you know ahead of time that your recommendation forms may not be submitted by the deadline, please inform Kirk Glaser (if applying to the Santa Clara Review) or Gordon Young (if applying to KSCU, The Redwood, or The Santa Clara) so this will not count against you when final decisions are made. However, if your recommendation forms are received after the deadline and you fail to inform Kirk Glaser or Gordon Young, then this may count against you when final decisions are made.

Application Agreement

As an applicant for a leadership position for one of the media CSOs, I agree to complete the online application, submit a hard copy of my unofficial transcript, ensure recommendation forms are submitted, and participate in all required interviews.

A hard copy of the transcript needs to be hand delivered to the Selection Committee during my initial interview. My application is not complete if I do not submit my transcript. I understand that I may obtain a free transcript via my eCampus account.
