Need a Ride Home for Spring Break?

Parent and Family Relations is pleased to announce that Break Shuttle will provide charter bus trips to assist Texas Tech students in traveling home for Spring Break. BreakShuttle makes it easy for students at Texas Tech University to save time and money and avoid the hassle of getting home by providing direct, safe and affordable transportation to and from Houston, Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio.

Buses are provided by BreakShuttle, which is a separate entity from Texas Tech University and will depart Lubbock on Saturday, March 10th and return to Lubbock on Sunday, March 18th. Seating is based on availability and is sold on a first come, first served basis. Prices vary by destination.

Texas Tech Men's Basketball vs. OK State

Support the #14 ranked Red Raider basketball team as they take on OSU. Head to the United Supermarkets Arena tomorrow, January 23th @ 6:00 pm and experience the electric atmosphere.


#12 Texas Tech vs. South Carolina

Then on Saturday, January 27th at 11:00 am support the Red Raider basketball team as they take on South Carolina as part of the Big 12/SEC Challenge.


The Maze Illusion Show is coming to Texas Tech Thursday, Jan 25th at the Allen Theater located in the SUB at 7:00PM. Jim Munroe came to Texas Tech a few years back and the Allen Theater was completely packed out. The show is phenomenal, so grab your friends and plan to arrive a little early to get your seats. It's FREE!


Sibling Saturday is held in the spring semester and is designed to bring siblings of Texas Tech students aged 8-15 to visit the Texas Tech campus. The schedule includes many events chosen to get you involved with your little brothers or sisters and create great memories. Sibling Saturday 2018 will be February 24, 2018. Register for Sibling Saturday at Parent and Family Relations' website!

Junk Fest

Monthly outdoor vendor market! This event takes place the last Saturday of every month. Over 30 vendors with vintage finds, junk, DIY items, home decor, furniture & SO MUCH MORE! Plus, enjoy food trucks & farmers market! This will be happening at Wild West Vintage, 8116 19th St from 9:00am-5:00pm


The Buddy Holly Center will host the exhibition, Barbie: Examining an Icon January 26 through March 18, 2018. This is an open invitational exhibition featuring artworks in various media that explore and respond to themes associated with this iconic doll. 


“You Are Not Alone” Inspirational Concert

Teenage suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death for ages 10-24. This epidemic is affecting families in our community today. Moonlight Directions is teaming up with the Lubbock Dream Center to present an inspirational concert in an effort to raise awareness and share a positive message of Hope, Faith, Passion, and Love.

Please come and support our cause as we share the message with our community that “No One Is Alone.”This special concert will be held at the Lubbock Dream Center (1111 30th St) on Sunday, January 28th at 7:00 pm with a $10 admission fee at the door.

Pancakes and Volunteering!

The Lubbock Lion’s Club will be holding their annual Pancake Festival on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at the Civic Center. Once again, they are asking if your organization will be willing to assist us in this worthy cause. The 2018 – 66th Annual Lubbock Lions Club Pancake Festival is scheduled for Saturday, February 17, 2017, from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Civic Center. They break this down into three working shifts, 1st shift - 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, 2nd shift - 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and 3rd shift - 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. They will need your organization to work the 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts, so please sign up by February 9th. Student Union & Activities is looking for student organizations interested in collaborating on Texas Tech's Annual Diversity Week, during the Spring 2018 semester. Email kelsey.m.jackson@ttu.edu if interested! Please contact Kelsey Jackson, by Monday, February 26 if your department or organization has any ideas or would like to participate in planning the 5th annual Diversity Week.

Diversity Week is a week dedicated to celebrating and understanding the importance of diversity throughout the community and Texas Tech University. Events, both fun and educational, will be planned throughout the entire week. The only limit to the events and topics we include is your imagination!
