Start the spring semester off right by finding an organization to join! Come meet some of the best students at Texas Tech at the Winter Raider Welcome Student Organization Fair and find out more about getting involved on campus.


Raider Welcome is a week series of FUN and FREE events designed to welcome new and returning students to the Texas Tech campus. Raider Welcome occurs the week before classes start (after Residence Hall move-in) and throughout the first week of classes.

While Raider Welcome is coordinated by Transition & Engagement and University Student Housing, the week would not be successful without the support of campus departments and members of the Texas Tech and Lubbock communities. If your group would like to host an event during Raider Welcome, please complete this online Event Submission Form. Submissions are due Dec. 6th, 2017 at 5:00PM.

Off-Campus Events & Opportunities
for Students, Faculty, and Staff


The Office of International Affairs invites you to a pre-candlelight party on Friday, December 8, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at the International Cultural Center. This celebration features German Christmas traditions in conjunction with the National Ranching Heritage Center’s Candlelight at the Ranch. Enjoy live music, crafts, gingerbread cookies and sausage! The first 25 people in attendance will receive a ticket for FREE hot chocolate redeemable during Candlelight at the Ranch.


Santa's Land

Santa's Land Drive-Thru Christmas Park is located in Tahoka (30 miles south of Lubbock). Admission is free, donations will be accepted to help keep the lights on. Stop by and see the lights and Santa. The park includes four acres of land, thousands of lights, 100 plus wooden cut outs, 15 blow-ups, tons of Christmas trees, and decorated antique car. Lots of new stuff this year! Visitors are able to stay inside their cars or get out and mingle while enjoying a warm fire and hot chocolate & cookies.Gate opens at 6:30 each night, lights out at 10:00pm. Coach Beard and the TTU Men’s Basketball Team would like to invite you and your members to the TTU-University of Nevada basketball game TODAY December 5th at 7 p.m. at the United Supermarket Arena.  Please show up loud and proud to cheer on your Red Raiders as they take on. The first 1500 get a FREE Star Wars shirt, there will be free food, and a chance to win Free ticket to see The Last Jedi.



Student Union & Activities is looking for student organizations interested in collaborating on Texas Tech's Annual Diversity Week, during the Spring 2018 semester. Email kelsey.m.jackson@ttu.edu if interested! Please contact Kelsey Jackson, by Monday, February 26 if your department or organization has any ideas or would like to participate in planning the 5th annual Diversity Week.

Diversity Week is a week dedicated to celebrating and understanding the importance of diversity throughout the community and Texas Tech University. Events, both fun and educational, will be planned throughout the entire week. The only limit to the events and topics we include is your imagination! The first planning meeting for next year’s Diversity Week will be on Friday, December 1, at 1:30pm in the Student Union Building Masked Rider Room (at the top of the Food Court Stairs)
