One Love Week: A Movement Against Domestic Violence

Raider Welcome is a week series of FUN and FREE events designed to welcome new and returning students to the Texas Tech campus. Raider Welcome occurs the week before classes start (after Residence Hall move-in) and throughout the first week of classes.

While Raider Welcome is coordinated by Transition & Engagement and University Student Housing, the week would not be successful without the support of campus departments and members of the Texas Tech and Lubbock communities. If your group would like to host an event during Raider Welcome, please complete this online Event Submission Form. Submissions are due Dec. 6th, 2017 at 5:00PM.

Texas Tech Men's Basketball vs. South Alabama

Support the Red Raider basketball team as they take on South Alabana. Head to the United Supermarkets Arena and enjoy refreshments from the concession stand and the electric atmosphere that the arena offers.

The Office of LGBTQIA, Texas Tech Residence Halls Association, and Tech GSA present Trans Remembrance Week, November 13-20, featuring guest speaker Ryan Sallans, Wednesday, November 15 at 7:30 PM and Thursday, November 16 at 9:00 AM. Other events include a lecture and book signing by Dr. Emily Skidmore, author of True Sex: The Lives of Trans Men at the Turn of the 20th Century. Veteran's Day Parade

Join the 2nd Annual Lubbock Veteran’s Day Parade to be held in Lubbock, Texas. The Veteran’s Day Parade is an event, designed to pay tribute to veteran’s and all that have served in Lubbock. Veteran's Day is November 11 in all states and is usually observed as a state holiday and a federal holiday. This event is for veterans and families of Lubbock, to bring the community and region together. The parade will occur on Saturday, November 11, 2017. The 2017 theme is: “Land of the Free, because of the Brave" Participants are encouraged to pay tribute to veterans and all who have served the community.

Route: The parade will start at the East parking lot of First Baptist Church at Broadway, heading East down Broadway, and then North on Avenue N to 10th Street, and then turn on Avenue M to end at the Civic Center Parking lot.

Officer Transition Workshop

Did your organization hold elections and there was not transition from the old officers to the new officers? Were you elected and was not given any resources about what you needed to do for the university? If your organization has experienced a bad transition between officers you should attend this workshop to learn how to set your organization up for success when it is your time to step down as an officer.

Student Org Risk Management Training

All student organizations are required to attend a Risk Management Training each year. If your organization did not attend the Student Org Academy in the spring or attend one of the trainings this past April you need to attend one of the trainings this fall to avoid being disabled. Check the LIST to see if your organization has completed the training and required assessment. If you are sure that your organization attended a training in the spring then the attendee has not completed the assessment. Follow these INSTRUCTIONS to see how to find and complete the assessment. The date listed on the instructions is for the Student Org Academy so if you attended
one of the later dates in April find that date instead.

Advisor EDU

The Advisor EDU Workshops are brief, one-hour trainings that cover a specific topic as it relates to your role as a student org advisor. Advisors can also utilize this time to ask questions of other Faculty/Staff members and Advisors in regards to a variety of topics.
