Although the announcement is sent out by the Center for Campus Life the contact for the various activities may not be in the Center for Campus Life, and will be listed in the each brief paragraph, in most cases the Center for Campus Life will not have any more information than is listed in this general email, and will direct you to the contact listed.

General Announcements for Students, Staff & Faculty



Annually the Center for Campus Life invites all students, faculty and staff to submit nominations for the Student Organization Recognition Awards.  This event recognizes advisors and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to the Texas Tech and greater Lubbock community. All registered student organizations and advisors are eligible to participate.

The annual Student Org Awards recognize advisors and organizations that have shown excellence and achievement in a variety of areas that include, but, are not limited to; fulfillment of purpose, community service, membership involvement, and leadership development. 


Wanna Expand Your Leadership Skills and Travel?

Student Involvement is excited to be offering an opportunity for student leaders to apply to attend a general student leadership institute hosted by the National Association for Campus Activities (NACA) May 25-28, 2017 in New Braunfels, TX. All expenses during the trip will be covered by Student Involvement. There is not a GPA requirement to apply but we will check to ensure that students are in good standing with the university.

Want to Host an Event during Raider Welcome?

Need an easy way to connect with new members for your organization? Host an event during Raider Welcome 2017!

Raider Welcome 2017 will take place August 20 - September 2, 2017 and is a great way to connect your organization to new students! And we will advertise the event for you! Last year, we had over 20,000 students attend Raider Welcome events in the fall. This is a great opportunity to highlight your organization and recruit new members! Don’t miss out!

Don't Lose Your Organization!

Each year organizations are required to attend a Risk Management Training, so get a head start for next year by fulfilling your organization's 2017-2018.  There are only two Risk Management Trainings left that will fulfill this requirement for the 2017-2018 school year. The Involvement Ambassadors are a Student Organization created to engage students in involvement opportunities. The purpose of the organization is to connect student leaders, provide resources to existing and potential student organizations, and connect new and current students to existing student organizations. Being a part of the Involvement Ambassadors is a rewarding commitment, but a commitment nonetheless.  Ambassadors are expected to handle themselves professionally while representing Texas Tech. APPLY HERE

Tech to Town is a day of service for students, faculty, and staff to thank the City of Lubbock for all it does for Texas Tech University. The event was designed by students for our community.



Arbor Day Registration is Now Open! 

Take part in one of Texas Tech’s annual events to bring the community together in celebration of keeping campus beautiful. Registered student organizations, faculty, and staff are invited to come and celebrate Arbor Day, on April 28, in Memorial Circle. Planting spaces are limited, so sign up as soon as possible. Student Organizations requesting a spot at Arbor Day must be registered and in good standing with the Center for Campus Life. Campus departments may also request a planting space.

Free Tutoring!

The Learning Center offers a variety of FREE services to all currently enrolled undergraduate Texas Tech students to ensure academic success: Drop-in peer tutoring in subjects such as Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Accounting, and Engineering. The Learning Center also offers individual academic planning, support, and coaching. Finally students have access to peer academic coaching that provides students with skills in test taking, time management, etc. Can make it in The Learning Center has Online tutoring Monday through Thursday from 7:30-10pm (in some subjects). They also offer presentations about our services to organizations and other departments and classes.

'Step-Up' Peer By-Stander Presentation

Step Up is a peer to peer bystander intervention program designed to teach students when and how to intervene regarding sexual violence, bullying, hazing, and other problematic behaviors typically found in the college campus environment.

Discounted Movie Tickets!

Stars and Stripes Drive-In is offering discounted rates at the Drive-In to all groups at Texas Tech. There regular ticket prices are $8 a screen for 2 features, but for groups (20-100 people) can offer tickets at a discounted price of $6 a ticket. To set up a group rate event please contact them at (806)-744-7827.
