Who are the Involvement Ambassadors?
The Involvement Ambassadors are a Student Organization created to engage students in involvement opportunities. The purpose of the organization is to connect student leaders, provide resources to existing and potential student organizations, and connect new and current students to existing student organizations. Involvement Ambassadors will have the responsibility of educating themselves about the other organizations so that these organizations may be promoted to students. The Involvement Ambassadors aim to enhance student engagement through consultations, promotion, and providing involvement opportunities.
The work that Involvement Ambassadors do is done out of a desire to see more student involvement at Texas Tech University. Being a part of the Involvement Ambassadors is a rewarding commitment, but a commitment nonetheless. Ambassadors are expected to handle themselves professionally while representing Texas Tech.
Qualifications for Involvement Ambassadors:
Must be enrolled as a full time student at Texas Tech (12 credit hours or more)
Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
Able to fulfill 1 office hour per week
Available for Student Organization programming throughout the school year
Available for recruitment events throughout the year including Connect Techs; One Day Red Raider Orientations in January, May, June, August, and December; Transfer Visit Days; and University Day (October)
Must attend the Student Involvement Ambassador Meetings
Must be committed to the goals and procedures of the organization
Preferred Qualities of Involvement Ambassadors
·Desire to serve Texas Tech University and it's students
·Public speaking experience
·Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
·Basic understanding of OrgSync (or an interest in learning)
·Team player with an interest in other Student Organizations
·Current member or leader in a Student Organization
Student Organization Coordinator references
Opportunity to develop professional and personal relationships with faculty, staff, and students
Understanding of campus resources, procedures, & event planning
