Although the announcement is sent out by the Center for Campus Life the contact for the various activities may not be in the Center for Campus Life, and will be listed in the each brief paragraph, in most cases the Center for Campus Life will not have any more information than is listed in this general email, and will direct you to the contact listed.

Involvement Ambassadors Application Fall 2015

The Involvement Ambassadors are a Student Organization created to engage students in involvement opportunities. The purpose of the organization is to connect student leaders, provide resources to existing and potential student organizations, and connect new and current students to existing student organizations. Involvement Ambassadors will have the responsibility of educating themselves about the other organizations so that these organizations may be promoted to students. The Involvement Ambassadors aim to enhance student engagement through consultations, promotion, and providing involvement opportunities. Fall 2015 Student Leader Academy

The Student Leader Academy is a FREE, On-Campus Leadership Conference for ALL Texas Tech students to learn more about who they are as leaders, build their personal leadership skills, and make connections with other Red Raiders. The Student Leader Academy includes a welcoming keynote speaker, educational breakout sessions, and time for networking with other campus leaders.

Looking for a Presentation for Your Organization?

RISE is available to give a variety of presentations to your organization. Current presentations include Alcohol/Drug Education, Healthy Relationships, Sexual Health, Mental Health, and Bystander Intervention. Do you need a speaker for your student organization? Red to Black can help!

Red to Black Peer Financial Coaching is here to answer your money questions. We offer presentations on topics such as creating spending plans, establishing and building credit, maximizing financial aid, and examining after college expenses. Our most popular presentation is Money Habitudes, which explores habits and attitudes surrounding money through an interactive card game. RaiderGate 2015

Come out to RaiderGate: A Student Tailgate Tradition, as your Red Raiders get ready to take on TCU! Students must get the passes prior to the event. Every registered student organization in good standing can reserve up to six (6) spaces! You can reserve your FREE Parking Passes online at Pickup your reserved passes in the Activities Office, located in Suite 020 of the Student Union Building (SUB), Monday- Thursday between 8-5. Unclaimed passes will be opened back up to the student body starting Friday morning. Quantities are limited!

Tailgating will open Saturday, September 26 at 11:45am. We can't wait to see you there!

Tech Student Democrats Weekly Meeting

Tech Student Democrats would like to invite all democrats to join them in their weekly meeting. The meetings will be held every Thursday at 6pm in the Student Union Building, please like their Facebook page for the room number and more meeting information.

Promote your Organization's Event on the Family Weekend Schedule

Family Weekend has been a tradition at Texas Tech since 1956. Many parents and family members will arrive on campus to visit their students and enjoy the many activities planned, including the Texas Tech vs. TCU football game.

If your student organization has activities planned during Family Weekend that you would like to see promoted on the Family Weekend schedule, please contact Christine Self at or 806-834-2869.  Activities should be appropriate for Texas Tech students, their parents, and younger siblings.

Interested in participating in Tech or Treat?

The Student Union Building and the Tech Activities Board, along with building partners, will be hosting Tech or Treat on Wednesday, October 28th from 6:00-8:00 pm throughout the Student Union Building.

Student organizations and Texas Tech University departments are welcome to sign up for an area/booth to create and host a game/activity for this year's Tech or Treat on Wednesday, October 28th from 6:00-8:00 pm throughout the Student Union Building. Sign up to participate in this trick or treating alternative for the Lubbock community!

Registration is currently open and will close on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 5:00 pm. Activities will be approved in the order in which they are received. Duplicate activities will not be accepted.

Tech or Treat will coincide with the Residence Halls Association's Safe Treat, also on Wednesday, October 28th from 6:00-8:00 pm.

Need a Ride Home for Thanksgiving?

Parent and Family Relations is pleased to announce that Break Shuttle will provide bus trips to assist Texas Tech students in traveling home for Thanksgiving 2015. Break Shuttle is the largest break/event transportation service for colleges and universities in the country.

Charter buses will transport students to/from Lubbock for Thanksgiving. Destinations are Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, Austin/San Antonio, and El Paso. Buses depart Lubbock on Wednesday, November 25th and return to Lubbock on Sunday, November 29th. Seating is based on availability and is sold on a first come, first served basis. Prices vary by destination.

Bus trips are provided by Break Shuttle, a separate entity from Texas Tech University. Parent and Family Relations at Texas Tech University works with Break Shuttle to ensure these trips are possible.

Request a Step-Up Presentation to Your Department or Student Organization

Step Up is a peer to peer bystander intervention program designed to teach students when and how to intervene regarding sexual violence, bullying, hazing, and other problematic behaviors typically found in the college campus environment. Texas Tech University is providing Step Up presentations that can be tailored to specific topics to fit your audience. Step-Up presentations can be done for classrooms, organizations, and on campus interest groups.

South Plains Food Bank Wreck Hunger Tailgate

Did you know 1 in 8 people across the South Plains doesn't know where their next meal is coming from? Step up to the plate and make a difference! Help the hungry AND knock-out those volunteer hours! Join the South Plains Food Bank, Sept 18-19, for the annual 24-Hour Wreck Hunger Tailgate Food Drive. Details can be found HERE.

The Science Spectrum has lots of service opportunities for Texas Tech students. Anyone who has an interest in science, education, and working with kids will enjoy volunteering at the museum's annual events! BubbleFest 2015
Assist with the event by helping with different bubble activity stations. Work with glow in the dark bubbles, liquid nitrogen bubbles, edible bubbles, even put a kid in a bubble!

This family friendly Halloween event is a spooky good time! Volunteer to help with carnival games, the haunted house, trick-or-treating, and dress in costume (family friendly please and nothing too scary!)

Keep Lubbock Beautiful

Keep Lubbock Beautiful is in need of assistance from a group of individuals to help clean-up debris near the Canyon Lakes system in northeast Lubbock.  The area is a relatively a roundabout residential area.  Gloves, bags and debris tools will be on hand to pick up the trash.  This is a great service project that could be done in about an hour or two depending on the group.  Please call Raquel Padilla at 806-775-3081, Coordinator, the Keep Lubbock Beautiful City of Lubbock.

Volunteer Center of Lubbock

The Volunteer Center of Lubbock can be a great resource for student organizations. We work with nearly 100 nonprofits in the Lubbock community and connect volunteers with the many needs of our partners. As a student organization, we can help you plan a project for your group or help members their best volunteer fit. We can do this by visiting one-on-one with you or coming to speak at one of your meetings. We feel it is so important to engage students with the community they live in, not to mention they make for enthusiastic, passionate and energetic volunteers!
