The following newsletter is sent out every week if there is information happening on campus or in the community that student organizations can benefit from. Although the announcement is sent out by the Center for Campus Life the contact for the various activities may not be in the Center for Campus Life, and will be listed in the each brief paragraph, in most cases the Center for Campus Life will not have any more information than is listed in this general email, and will direct you to the contact listed.
Student Organizations Weekly
Have you registered your organization for 2015-2016?
Registration due by the first day of Fall classes, August 24th. Log-in to your organization's orgsync portal and update your information. Make sure to include the 2015-2016 University Policy Agreement form and your constitution and bylaws. If you want to start reserving rooms on campus for your organization you must be registered through OrgSync in order to do so.

Raider Welcome Student Organization Fair
Looking for a chance to reach out to new members this fall? Registration for this year’s Raider Welcome Student Organization Fair is now open. Depending on the number of tables we are able to fit into the SUB Ballroom, tables will be issued to the organizations who sign up first. 2015 Raider Welcome Student Organization Fair Student Union Building Ballroom Tuesday, August 18, 2015 6pm-7pm.

Want to Submit an Announcement to Student Orgs Weekly?
We have created an easy form for you and your student organization to submit announcements that would appear in the Student Orgs Weekly. Student Orgs Weekly is sent out each Friday during the school year, and promote student organization events and happenings. Click here to submit announcements in future Student Orgs Weekly. SGA Funded Organizations
If your organization is currently funded by Student Government the deadline to submit funding forms for this current fiscal year (FY15 - September 2014 through August 2015) is Friday, August 7, 2015. If your organization does not use the full allocated amount it could be penalized during the next funding process.

SUB Table Tents use offered to Registered Student Orgs

Red to Black® offers free and confidential financial coaching to all Texas Tech students
We offer one-on-one coaching sessions and presentations on a variety of financial topics such as debt management, spending plans, maximizing student loans, and expenses after college. For officers and other student organization leaders, we offer workshops to maximize funding and assist with a long-term financial plan for the organization. We are available for walk-ins (Monday – Thursday, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.) and by appointment for one-on-one sessions. Help the TTU Equestrian Programs WIN $10,000
The TTU Equestrian Center, Therapeutic Riding Program, Rodeo Team, Equestrian Team, Ranch Horse Team, and Horse Judging Team have joined together to compete for prizes in the TIME TO RIDE program, sponsored by AQHA and the American Horse Council. We are looking for student groups, church groups, social organizations, etc. who we could give a horse experience to. Come to our fun Time To Ride event on July 26 from 1 pm to 3 pm, or call 806-792-4682 to schedule an event for your group. All Time to Ride events are free of charge and can be as short as 5 minutes, or longer. We need at least a week's notice to schedule special group events, and all participants will be asked to sign a liability release and provide their name and email address. Email addresses will not be used for any sales or solicitations, but simply to verify your participation in the event.
Please help us be the organization to provide the most horse experiences to newcomers and we will win $10,000 to support our student teams and programs.

Request a Step-Up Presentation to Your Department or Student Organization
Step Up is a peer to peer bystander intervention program designed to teach students when and how to intervene regarding sexual violence, bullying, hazing, and other problematic behaviors typically found in the college campus environment. Texas Tech University is providing Step Up presentations that can be tailored to specific topics to fit your audience. Step-Up presentations can be done for classrooms, organizations, and on campus interest groups. Lubbock Moonlight Musicals inspires audiences throughout the summer with fun and exciting musicals at the Amphitheater in Mackenzie Park.Making use of the fantastic talent of Texas Tech students and actors from the Lubbock community, Lubbock Moonlight Musicals is able to produce shows that thrill their audiences, whether a sophisticated theater viewer or a first-timer.The shows being performed this summer are 1776, Oklahoma, and Beauty and The Beast Jr! Keep Lubbock Beautiful
Keep Lubbock Beautiful is in need of assistance from a group of individuals to help clean-up debris near the Canyon Lakes system in northeast Lubbock. The area is a relatively a roundabout residential area. Gloves, bags and debris tools will be on hand to pick up the trash. The Volunteer Center of Lubbock can be a great resource for student organizations. We work with nearly 100 nonprofits in the Lubbock community and connect volunteers with the many needs of our partners. As a student organization, we can help you plan a project for your group or help members their best volunteer fit. We can do this by visiting one-on-one with you or coming to speak at one of your meetings. We feel it is so important to engage students with the community they live in, not to mention they make for enthusiastic, passionate and energetic volunteers!
