The following email will be sent out every week if there is information happening on campus or in the community that student organizations can benefit from. Although the announcement is sent out by the Center for Campus Life the contact for the various activities may not be in the Center for Campus Life, and will be listed in the each brief paragraph, in most cases the Center for Campus Life will not have any more information than is listed in this general email, and will direct you to the contact listed.

New Student Org Staff Announcement!
Unit Coordinator: We would like to welcome Kelsey Jackson as the new Unit Coordinator for Student Organizations. Kelsey got her Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Texas at Arlington (studying Business, Sociology, and Public Affairs) where she was involved in many different organizations from Fraternity and Sorority Life to Student Governance to Leadership Initiatives on campus. It was through her involvement in those various organizations that she found her passion for Student Affairs and working with college students. Kelsey then went on to receive her Masters in Higher Education from the University of North Texas. Kelsey is so excited to be part of the Red Raider Family and can’t wait to increase and promote Student Involvement here at Texas Tech University.
Student Assistant: We would like to welcome Kristen Mills as the new Student Assistant for Student Organizations. Kristen is currently a Junior attending the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center pursuing a degree in Speech Language and Hearing Sciences. Kristen is very involved on campus through Greek life, community service, and leadership positions. Kristen is the current president of Involvement Ambassadors, which is a group of students who help promote all student organizations to incoming and current students. Kristen loves Texas Tech and is so excited to be able to help promote student organizations on campus by helping students find their place in the Tech community!
Student Involvement Graduate Assistant Position Announcement
The Graduate Assistant assists in the development and implementation of services and programs related to Student Involvement: student organizations and student leadership development. The Graduate Assistant will work with the student involvement staff to design and implement specific strategies to improve student’s knowledge of involvement and leadership development opportunities. Requirements: Prior experience and/or membership in student organizations highly preferred. This position will require strong computer and presentation skills and excellent oral and written communication skills. The candidate must have the ability to maintain confidentiality when required and be able to use personal relations skills to interact with individuals from a variety of backgrounds. Applicants must have completed a Bachelor's degree and be accepted into a graduate program at Texas Tech University. This position is designed for the individual who is pursuing a Master’s degree. Preference will be given to applicants enrolled in higher education, counseling, communications, or other related programs.
To Apply: Applicants should submit a cover letter, resume, academic transcript, letter of acceptance to Texas Tech University Graduate School, and three (3) current references to the contact listed below. Review of applicants will begin April 1, 2015 and will continue until the position is filled. The preferred start date is July 15, 2015. EEO/Affirmative Action Institution.
Have you registered your organization for 2015-2016?
Registration due by the first day of Fall classes, August 24th. Login to your organization's orgsync portal and update your information. Make sure to include the 2015-2016 University Policy Agreement form and your constitution and bylaws. If you want to start reserving rooms on campus for your organization you must be registered through OrgSync in order to do so.

RRO Student Organization Fair – WAIT LIST
Interested in participating in the Red Raider Orientation Student Organization Fairs this summer? Registration is closed but we do have a Wait List form that your student organization can fill out and we will add you in when there is room. Once you have submitted your form you can arrive by 4:15 pm on the day of the fairs and we will release any tables that have not been used be registered organizations. This will not guarantee you a table for the rest of the summer but you will be able to participate on that day.
We ask that you read through the guidelines and expectations of the RRO Organization Fair, so as to inform you of the protocol and procedures for all participants. All organizations must agree to these guidelines in order to be eligible to participate in the fair. Should an organization violate any portion of this agreement they will be subject to removal from the fair and future participation in RRO will be subject to review by the Director of Red Raider Orientation. If your organization did not attend the Mandatory Training you will need to have a representative attend one this Sunday at 2 pm in the SUB Llano Estacado room to be able to participate in the fairs. There will be a fair from 4:30-5:30 pm the same day with sign in from 4:00 – 4:15 pm. You will have a break from 3-4 pm to gather your items for the fair.

SGA Funded Organizations
If your organization is currently funded by Student Government the deadline to submit funding forms for this current fiscal year (FY15 - September 2014 through August 2015) is Friday, August 7, 2015. If your organization does not use the full allocated amount it could be penalized during the next funding process.

Red to Black® offers free and confidential financial coaching to all Texas Tech students
We offer one-on-one coaching sessions and presentations on a variety of financial topics such as debt management, spending plans, maximizing student loans, and expenses after college. For officers and other student organization leaders, we offer workshops to maximize funding and assist with a long-term financial plan for the organization. We are available for walk-ins (Monday – Thursday, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.) and by appointment for one-on-one sessions. Request a Step-Up Presentation to Your Department or Student Organization
Step Up is a peer to peer bystander intervention program designed to teach students when and how to intervene regarding sexual violence, bullying, hazing, and other problematic behaviors typically found in the college campus environment. Texas Tech University is providing Step Up presentations that can be tailored to specific topics to fit your audience. Step-Up presentations can be done for classrooms, organizations, and on campus interest groups. Keep Lubbock Beautiful
Keep Lubbock Beautiful is in need of assistance from a group of individuals to help clean-up debris near the Canyon Lakes system in northeast Lubbock. The area is a relatively a roundabout residential area. Gloves, bags and debris tools will be on hand to pick up the trash. The Volunteer Center of Lubbock can be a great resource for student organizations. We work with nearly 100 nonprofits in the Lubbock community and connect volunteers with the many needs of our partners. As a student organization, we can help you plan a project for your group or help members their best volunteer fit. We can do this by visiting one-on-one with you or coming to speak at one of your meetings. We feel it is so important to engage students with the community they live in, not to mention they make for enthusiastic, passionate and energetic volunteers! Volunteers Needed to Help Sort Food
The South Plains Food Bank is in need of 2-4 volunteers at Top Tier Catering from 8:30AM - 9:30AM each Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Top Tier graciously donates food to the South Plains Food Bank to distribute to St. Benedicts soup kitchen. St. Benedicts feeds the homeless in Lubbock. Top Tier is short staffed so they need help in getting the food packaged for the South Plains Food Bank to pick up and distribute on Thursday afternoons. If you need volunteers hours, there will be a sign in sheet and the food bank will be happy to credit and report any volunteer hours.
