Sacramento State students are invited to apply for the prestigious Congressional Internship Program offered by the Panetta Institute of Public Policy.  Applications are due by February 19, 2014.  


Live and work in Washington D.C. for the fall 2014 semester, while earning academic credit.  Panetta Interns are placed in the Capitol office of a California Congressional member.   The program runs from August 10 through November 8 and includes a two-week orientation at the Monterey Bay campus and an 11-week internship in Washington.  Interns can earn up to 20 academic credits.  The program covers costs including academic fees and tuition, food and housing, and travel to and from Washington D.C.  Interns also receive a stipend to help cover other expenses. 


Qualifications include:

[*]      Demonstrated commitment to community and public service

[*]      Exemplary maturity and leadership abilities

[*]      High academic standing

[*]      Upper division undergraduate status (matriculating juniors or seniors during time of internship)

[*]      U.S. citizenship and California residency


Application packets are due by February 19 and must include 2-page essay of interest, a current resume, transcripts and two references.
