François-Henri BRIARD is a Supreme Court of France attorney and has argued a number of constitutional cases. He is the President of the Paris Chapter of the Federalist Society and is a close friend of America and is an honorary inductee to the Sons of the American Revolution. Briard is a member of the Historical Society of the United States Supreme Court and president of the Vergennes Institute, which he co-founded with Justice Antonin Scalia. The Institute seeks to foster cooperation between the French and U.S. Supreme Courts; among its members are Justice Stephen Breyer and the presidents of the French Supreme Courts. Briard is also the president of the Institute des Hautes Etudes de Defense Nationale (Institute for National Defense Studies).

FAIZ SHAKIR is a Senior Adviser and Director of New Media for House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi. He previously was a Vice President at the Center for American Progress and served as Editor-in-Chief of He holds a B.A. degree in Government from Harvard University and a J.D. degree from the Georgetown Law Center. Faiz is co-author of Howard Dean’s Prescription for Real Healthcare Reform and Fear, Inc: The Roots of the Islamophobia Network in America. Faiz has appeared on MSNBC, CNN, and C-SPAN, among other networks, and is a frequent guest on various radio shows.
