About Lambda Theta Nu Sorority, Inc.
Lambda Theta Nu Sorority, Inc. was founded on March 11, 1986 at California State University, Chico, becoming the first Latina-based sorority in the region. Since then, the sorority has set out to foster leadership skills, community service, and academic excellence in young women. The sorority is also a founding member organization of the National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations (NALFO). Lambda Theta Nu Sorority, Inc. is currently located in ten states and forty chapters strong. Since 1993, the Eta Chapter has been recognized on the Metropolitan State University of Denver as a registered student organization. On October 22nd, 1994 the Eta Chapter of Lambda Theta Nu Sorority, Inc. received its official recognition by the National organization. The purpose of Lambda Theta Nu Sorority, Inc. shall be to open the doors of opportunity to Latinas in our community. Our primary focus is academic excellence and meeting the needs of Latina women in higher education. Lambda Theta Nu Sorority, Inc. also promotes the advancement of Latinas through various campus activities and community services, and provides an environment for personal growth within a unit sisterhood. Lambda Theta Nu Sorority, Inc.'s priorities, however, will be placed upon academic excellence and community service.
Our mission is to promote and foster Latina leaders through educational and professional development, relationship building, and community involvement. Our intent is to provide our members exposure to resources for continued growth.
