Welcome to the Ferris State University Veterans Association OrgSync page!
We are a group of student veterans dedicated to preserving the sense of camaraderie found by serving in the armed forces. In addition, the association continually seeks out opportunities to serve the community of Big Rapids, especially for disabled veterans and/or projects in conjunction with local vet establishments like AMVETS and the American Legion. We invite all students who are veterans or currently enlisted (DEP, National Guard, Reserves, etc.) to attend our weekly meetings on Thursday at 11am in the University Center room 129.
Our mission is:
1) Assist veterans in the development of student veteran organizations at their respective institutions
2) Assist institutions in providing resources for veterans at their respective institutions
3) Serve as the definitive organization advocating for student veteran issues at the state and national level
4) Serve as a syndicate between veteran and their civilian counterparts - including friends, business associates and commonly utilized institutions.
Please join us. Together, we can move toward a stronger America by securing our nation's most valuable asset; our veterans and their friends and families.

What else should people know about your meetings? Do you only meet once a month? Do attendees need to be added to an agenda? Is the location hard to find? If attendees need ADA accommodations, whom should they contact?
General Meetings are held in FLITE and are announced via the OrgSync events list. However, anyone is free to visit the SERV room during normal hours of operation on the second floor of the Helen Ferris Building, Room 128.

Why should people join? What makes your group special? What will students gain by being a member?
This group is for veterans, to help veterans, in any way possible in their transition from military to civilian life. This is especially true for the college setting of Ferris State University. We invite all who serve or have served to join us in supporting our fellow service members.
Does your group have a fundraising, volunteer, or service initiative? Do you consistently work with a non profit organization?
Hooking up Heros and Grand Rapids Veterans Group are just a few of the organizations we've coordinated with. The veterans RSO continually strives to serve the community in any way possible, especially for local disabled vets.
