 MISSION

The mission of the NAACP Youth & College Division shall be to inform youth of the problems affecting African Americans and other racial and ethnic minorities; to advance the economic, education, social and political status of African Americans and other racial and ethnic minorities and their harmonious cooperation with other peoples; to stimulate an appreciation of the African Diaspora and other people of color’s contribution to civilization; and to develop an intelligent, militant effective youth leadership.

OBJECTIVES

•Provide young people with personal and leadership development training
•Proactive political and community activism
•Public awareness of the necessity of positive youth engagement

Selection Process

If your organization has selective membership, please describe the selection process. This may include a GPA requirement, try-outs, degree program, etc.

We have an open membership process. but we do require at 2.5 gpa. Any major, and race all backgrounds please feel welcome to come check us out.

What do you want people to know about your group?

Why should people join? What makes your group special? What will students gain by being a member?

We are part of a national organization with chapters at just about all campuses in Michigan. We are a community service focused organization with a very large diverse group of people. Our members gain great leadership expiernce with amazing networking opportunities with people from all professions.
