Welcome To Financial Management Association of Ferris State University!
The Financial Management Association seeks to increase its membership and provide the best opportunities for its members to network and learn about the field of finance. These objectives are accomplished three ways.
First, the organization schedules trips to places such as Chicago to visit the Chicago Stock Exchange, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, the Chicago Board of Trade, and the Federal Reserve. We also visit places closer to Big Rapids like Isabella Bank.
Second, the organization seeks to invite guest speakers from areas such as investing, banking, real estate/mortgage, and corporate finance in order to inform members about the different areas of Finance, and enable members to network.
Finally, each semester we do a mock stock trading contest. We compete against one another and the person with the highest return at the end of the semester receives a prize.
Association membership is extended to all who are interested in Finance regardless of their major.

What else should people know about your meetings? Do you only meet once a month? Do attendees need to be added to an agenda? Is the location hard to find? If attendees need ADA accommodations, whom should they contact?
We meet the first & third Wednesdays of each month.
If your organization has selective membership, please describe the selection process. This may include a GPA requirement, try-outs, degree program, etc.
As of right now, we have no dues but this is subject to change based on semester plans. Also, we encourage all our memebers to join the National Financial Management Association (www.fma.org). FMA National benefits students in various ways such as scholarships, job recruiting, career fairs and national conventions to name a few.
