Welcome to the Student Honors Council's Page! The Student Honors Council supports the social mission of the University Honors Program. It ensures that social activities, graduation ceremonies, SPSU functions, and conference travel opportunities are communicated to the honors student body.

Portal Information

The Student Honors Council supports the social mission of the University Honors Program, which was established through SPSU Policy and Procedure as both an academic and social program. Thus, the Student Honors Council serves the larger honors community in much the same way as the Student Government Association serves the SPSU population. In addition to supplying social support for the honors program, the SHC helps to recruit students through Open Houses, it supports the graduating community through a special ceremony, and it promotes travel for academic conferences such as the National Collegiate Honors Council Conference. Student presentations at academic conferences are seen as an academic benefit to students and a promotional benefit to SPSU since it helps our name become known outside of the state.
