You are invited to join the School of Social Work Student Organization (SWSO)!
We are the student organization for all students in the School of Social Work(SSW). All students in the SSW are automatically members of SWSO. Our mission statement explains a lot about our org:
The Social Work Student Organization was established as a group of social work students at Arizona State University seeking to develop and advance social justice. Our emphasis is on advocating social equality for underprivileged populations through collective and democratic processes. We will fulfill our mission by partnering with fellow students and other local and statewide communities in an effort to promote positive social change.
We also support and represent students of all levels for BSW and MSW programs at ASU’s downtown campus.
As council members you can participate in faculty committee meetings to help inform the students of the School of Social Work and provide a voice that represents them. You may also join in activities that are meaningful and career building by taking a workshop or volunteering at events. Your membership to SWSO will also give you an opportunity to have your voice be heard. During SWSO meetings you may introduce an event, an opinion, or ideas on how to engage and recruit more members.
We hope you will accept our invitation to join SWSO. We hope to become an active, effective and fun organization that you will be proud to participate!
