### “Exploring Euler’s Formula” by Prof. Steffy

Euler’s characteristic formula is a fundamental result in mathematics that relates the number of vertices, edges and faces of a graph drawn in the plane. Like many other results in mathematics, this formula is useful in many, sometimes surprising, ways. This talk will explore some history and alternative proofs of Euler’s formula along with a sampling of applications in geometry and graph theory.
