Hello and welcome to the Data Science Society of UNSW!

We were super excited to have talked to you about Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning!

How are chatbots made? What's behind IBM Watson's Q&A system? Why does XBOX's Kinect work? How does Google Translate work? How about automatic Newspaper writing machines?

This week, learn all about Tree Algorithms and Natural Language Processing. We will also talk about the final project.

4. SIGN UP at

Two courses are running this semester.

1. Introduction to Data Science

2. Advanced Algorithms and Artificial Intelligence

Each course (cost = 0) will probably start week 1 or 2 and run for 10 weeks. There also is a major project due.

If you pass it, you will be inducted into our AI Lab where you can participate in our other projects!

There is also a certificate of completion for all students who pass!

Some of the highlights of both courses:

1. Introduction to Data Science

Using NASA data, locate exoplanets.

Predict liver diseases before they become serious

2. Advanced Algorithms and Artificial Intelligence

Predict the probability of asteroid impacts.

Predict the gender of Twitter Users.
