2. Intro to DS and Advanced Algorithms and AI courses

**IMPORTANT** How do I sign up for these courses?

1. Register as a member on  1scope.com/datasoc (compulsory)

Two courses are running this semester.

1. Introduction to Data Science

2. Advanced Algorithms and Artificial Intelligence

 

Each course (cost = 0) will probably start week 1 or 2 and run for 10 weeks. There also is a major project due.

If you pass it, you will be inducted into our AI Lab where you can participate in our other projects!

There is also a certificate of completion for all students who pass!

Some of the highlights of both courses:

1. Introduction to Data Science

Using NASA data, locate exoplanets.

Predict liver diseases before they become serious

2. Advanced Algorithms and Artificial Intelligence

Predict the probability of asteroid impacts.

Predict the gender of Twitter Users.

3. Club Taster Day - Drone Demo & Surviving a Post AI World

Next Tuesday (27th Feb), come join us at UNSW RoundHouse Room 2 from 12pm - 1pm!

Autonomous Drones & Survival in a Post AI World

Ever wanted to fly or see a drone in action? Then come and we'll make you excited! We'll also show you methods on how to integrate Computer Vision to drone systems, and how to make them fully or semi-autonomous. DataSoc will then explain how Artificial Intelligence can impact societies, and what the future will look like.
We'll highlight possible future timelines of the world, and we'll showcase how you can survive in a Post Artificial Intelligence World.

4. Powered by AI Company talks

We will have many companies come to UNSW to talk about how they use data science, machine learning

and AI in their everyday operations.

 

These will be great networking opportunities and will provide a fantastic platform for startups and companies to recruit the very best of minds in Australia!
