Call for Applications: Conference Chair in Training
Aug 1, 2017 by Sanim Rahman
Are you interested in developing your conference planning and organizational abilities? Are you interested in joining the URS Executive board to help promote undergraduate research at USF? We are currently conducting a search for our first Conference Chair in Training (CCIT) for the 2017-2018 school year. If you are interested in the position, please apply through the Google Form at the bottom of the post.
The role of the Conference Chair in Training (CCIT) is to work with the current acting Conference Chair (Co-President, Dakota Becker-Greene) to successfully organize the 1st Annual Fall Research Conference, along with URS attendance at the USF spring conference and NCUR national conference. The responsibilities of this position are variable, but would average 5-10 hours per week, and require attendance at all e-board and general body meetings. This position is a two-year commitment, as the CCIT transitions into the Conference Chair position in April 2018.
Therefore to apply, you must be a rising second year or third-year student. You do not have to be involved in research, although it is strongly preferred. However, if accepted into the position, you are EXPECTED to be involved in research in the upcoming semesters.
The deadline to submit your application is Thursday, August 31st, 2017.
