MenCARE (Creating Attitudes for Rape-Free Environments) is a campus-wide prevention program dedicated to ending sexual violence through education, cultural change, and leadership development. MenCARE is a unique collaboration between Strength United, a center of the Michael D. Eisner College of Education sponsored by the Department of Educational Psychology and Counseling, and University Counseling Services. The centerpiece of MenCARE is peer education for men, by men, through small group discussion, workshops, and outreach events. MenCARE focuses on male students from every aspect of the campus community including fraternities, athletics, residential advising, and cultural organizations. MenCARE aims to increase the awareness and effects of rape and sexual assault, decrease the occurrence of engaging in behaviors that lead to rape and sexual assault, providing information about how to access resources, and positive attitudes towards promoting safety in interpersonal relationships.
