We are a group in the College of Mines and Earth Sciences, dedicated to creating a professional and inclusive community within our college. Our mission statement is to encourage unity and inclusivity in the CMES community, and to facilitate constructive and respectful dialogue about safety, bias, and diversity with respect to science and engineering in both academic and industry settings. EVERYONE is welcome in this group! It is a great way to be involved with the college, and to help make a difference in the CMES community.
We provide educational workshops on microaggressions, unconcsious bias, navigating conflict etc. using resources on campus such as Career Services, Human Resources, and the Office of Inclusive Excellence.
We also do monthly Coffee and Conversations in the Confluence of FASB/WBB to discuss campus climate, science, engineering, current events, or whatever we feel like discussing.
This fall we plan on having movie nights, cofee and conversations, workshops and hopefully an interdepartmental trivia night!

Officer Selection process:
All officer positions will be selected by the membership and will be year long positions
Each person may hold a position for a maximum of 2 years unless no other candidates are available, in which case they may maintain their position as long as it is supported by members via elections
Nominations will be at the beginning of the Spring Semester.
The call for nominations will begin one month before the vote.
Votes will take place in the final Spring Semester meeting.
Any student in University of Utah who is interested in Inclusive Earth (IE), signs up for emails, and attends at least one meeting per semester.
Membership in this organization will not be restricted on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, veteran status, sex or age
