Service-Learning Student Project Fund Proposals 2018-2019
The Service-Learning Student Project Fund (SLSPF) is designed for Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) students enrolled in designated service-learning classes, Civically Engaged Scholars, and SLICE. Students may request funding to offset costs directly related to their service-learning (SL) projects. Service-learning instructors and Engaged Learning staff must approve the project and sign off on the proposal cover page. Students may request up to $500 per course or program (e.g. all students in a given course or program have a $500 cap total) and must submit a final report. Please also remember that students must work with a Thayne Center Community Partner unless discussed with Engaged Learning staff prior to the proposal! We encourage students to be creative when planning a project. Work closely with the course instructor, staff, and community partner to explore the range of possibilities.
Application deadlines (submitted and approved by instructor and community partner/non-profit organization) for each semester are as follows:
Spring: First week of April
Fall: First week of November
Summer: First week of July
Submit early! Please provide 1-2 week for the approval process. Note that the limit of approved proposals per class is three.
