Welcome to the Western Sydney University Disability Collective

The Disability Collective is for student carers and students who identify as having a temporary or permanent disability (eg: physical, visual, intellectual, etc) or medical condition (eg: anxiety, rheumatism, diabetes, etc). The collective is open to all carers and students who have sensory, intellectual, physical, mental and/or other disabilities or chronic health conditions. The role of the Disability Collective is to remove discrimination on the basis of having a disability and engage in activities and advocacy that will further develop representation of students with disabilities at Western Sydney University. It also serves to assist students with a disability to have a presence in student representation.

There are also seven (7) access rooms at Western Sydney University currently:

These Access Rooms provide students with adaptive equipment and specialist assistive technology. They are designed to enable students to work independently in a shared space using the designated work stations. Access to these rooms is accessible across all campuses via swipe card only.

Description

The Disability Collective is for carers and students who identify as having a temporary or permanent disability. The collective is open to all carers and students who have sensory, intellectual, physical, mental and/or other disabilities or chronic health conditions. The role of the Disability Collective is to remove discrimination on the basis of having a disability and engage in activities and advocacy that will further develop accessibility and representation for/of students with disabilities at Western Sydney University.

The collective also serves to assist students within the university with a disability or carer role to have a presence in student representation.
