Welcome to the Residence Hall Association Newsletter! Many of you may have some questions - what is the Residence Hall Association? Why should I care? What is the point of this newsletter?
The Residence Hall Association, commonly known as RHA, is comprised of every student living on campus. We serve as the voice and resource to make changes within our community. We provide leadership opportunities, host events and provide funds for residents all while focusing on an inclusive, diverse environment. We make it our priority to listen to the concerns of residents and provide funds for anything the halls want or need. Dux in Tux? RHA organizes that. The televisions in all of the hall lounges? RHA provided those. RHA has done and can do a lot of what you hope for during an amazing time at the University of Oregon.
The Residence Hall Association is not just a group of administrators deciding what the residents want and need, though; you have a say in the decisions we make because you're a part of RHA too! Your input is more important than anything else. We want to hear your concerns about your hall; we want to hear your ideas for an event; that's more than reason enough to care. The RHA has the power to do so many amazing things for the residence halls, but we need your help.
As an RHA member, it's important that you stay informed about everything that happens in the residence halls and RHA, and that is why this newsletter was created. There will be information on all of the events going on in every hall, as well as any major decisions within RHA and information on how you can get involved.

"My name is Lucas Vireday, my pronouns are he, him, and his, and I am honored to be the National Communications Coordinator for UO's RHA, 2016-2017. I am in my second year at UO, majoring in Accounting. I initially got involved in RHA by being elected as the RHA Representative for Ham West's Hall Government my first year, attending General Council and working under Erika Goto, the former NCC, in her committee. The place that I call home is Hillsboro, Oregon, and my interests beyond RHA of course extend to having fun, being awesome, and boldly going where most people have not gone before.
As NCC, I not only help to represent UO to the Pacific Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls (PACURH)- as well as the National Association of College and University Residence Halls (NACURH)- I also work with our local chapter of the National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) and my own committee to assist and support any RHA, NRHH, and PACURH actions."
Kathy To, Administration Coordinator
"Welcome everyone! As your Administration Coordinator (ADC), one of the many tasks that I am in charge of is creating the yearlong allocation. Throughout all three terms, I am constantly updating the financial budget so that RHA can supply you all funds for each of your event. I also provide a vast variety of administrative, secretarial, and program support.
Coming from Portland, Oregon, I am currently a second year who is majoring in Accounting and minoring in Computer Information Technology.
P.S. I also play the role of ADC in League. Add me and let's play!"
