Our world is set up to advantage the few over the many based on skin color, gender, sexual orientation, religion, socio-economic status, and other identities.  Privilege based on identity is the unmerited advantages some people receive that helps them succeed in life more than their non-privileged peers.  Let’s explore how privilege works and what we can do to support equitable access to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.  All are welcome!

Learning Objectives:

  • Participants will be able to differentiate between equality and equity.
  • Participants will be able to list at least three types of privilege.
  • Participants will be able to list at least three ways to be an ally with people lacking specific privilege.
