Reactivation Request Form
Renewing a Registered Student Organization at the beginning of each semester is a basic requirement for maintaining RSO status at the University of Iowa. It is stated in Policies & Regulations Affecting Students, it is emphasized during New Org. Orientation/Training sessions as well as the mandatory Fall Kick-off meetings, reminders are posted in OrgSync and sent out as email notifications - to the Primary and Secondary Representatives, as well as Advisors, who are listed in OrgSync - multiple times leading up to the renewal deadline.
The consequences were clearly stated in the notifications:
Registered student organizations that do not renew during the Fall Renewal Period (before September 15) will be de-activated* on OrgSync and your organization will be considered in-active. You will not be able to request or spend money, keep current room reservations, make new room reservations, or have access to any other UI resources until after January 1. *NO EXCEPTIONS!
Yet, there are still those student organizations that do not renew as instructed.
By completing and submitting this form, you are requesting that a recently deactivated (Defunct Fall 2017) RSO be re-activated, even though it was stated there would be "no exceptions" to this renewal policy.

This form MUST be completed and submitted by a registered UI student who is currently involved with the organization. A form that is completed by a faculty or staff member, or any non-UI-student, will be denied immediately and will not receive further consideration.
Any organizations that were deactivated prior to Fall 2017 must go through the complete registration process as a NEW organization. This process can be found on the Starting an Organization website.
