The Seattle University Youth Initiative (SUYI) strives to strengthen education and support systems for neighborhood youth and their families while enhancing the University through community engagement opportunities. In partnership with families, schools and community organizations, the goal of the Seattle University Youth Initiative is to ensure that youth graduate from high school and are prepared to succeed in college and in life.
Preschool through College and Career
The Seattle University Youth Initiative connects resources to our partner schools to form a pipeline of academic support for youth attending preschool programs, Bailey Gatzert Elementary, Washington Middle School, and Garfield High School. Academic assistance is our primary focus, however we also support the social-emotional growth and development of youth through mentoring and enrichment activities.
