Homecoming Court Application

Dear UNCP Student Leader,
Thank you for your interest in this year's Homecoming King and Queen Competition. The Association of Campus Entertainment seeks to honor students for outstanding achievement in leadership, scholarship, and university and community service and will reward two students who have excelled in these areas.
In order to be eligible for Homecoming King and Queen, you must:

- Have completed two semesters at UNCP at the time of the application
- Currently be enrolled as an undergraduate student at UNCP
- Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Be free from any past or current judicial or disciplinary action
- Submit a complete application by the deadline (no late applications will be accepted)

Each qualified applicant will be judged in the following areas: academic excellence and demonstrated leadership in extracurricular activities and community service activities, which will be assessed through a series of essay-questions to be evaluated by UNCP faculty, staff, and students. Application deadline is October 5th, 2012 at 2:00 pm in the Student Involvement and Leadership Office, 225 University Center (UC).

Once the applications have been reviewed, the applicant pool will be narrowed to semi-finalists whose names will be posted on the Homecoming web site ( and in the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership and will be individually contacted to set up interview times. All semi-finalists will then be interviewed by a panel of University faculty, administrators, and student leaders. Interviews will be held Monday, October 15th or Tuesday, October 16th, 2012 (time and location will be sent via phone call).

The vote of the student body, as well as scores from the interview and application process will determine the 2012-2013 Homecoming King and Queen. All finalists will be introduced at half time during the Homecoming Football Game on Saturday October 27th, 2012. We will also honor the finalist(s) with the highest overall GPA that day.

Once again, the Association of Campus Entertainment appreciates your interest in this program and UNCP's Homecoming events. Should you have any questions concerning the completion, please contact any one of us:
