Welcome to the Georgia Tech Astronomy Club!

Our club focuses on promoting amateur astronomy on Georgia Tech's campus and in its neighborhood! We meet every Monday night at 8pm in the Howey Physics building, room L5. After meetings, we visit the observatory on the roof (weather permitting). Our other activities include scheduling visits to the Fernbank Planetarium, movies, solar observing, participating in local astronomy camping events, and hosting the Boy Scouts Astronomy Merit Badge Clinic. Current undergraduate students, graduate students, alumni, and even non-students in the Atlanta area are welcome to join our club!

What are three goals your organization has for this year?

This information will be on your profile. We encourage groups to think of this as a way to share what members will be working on, and what they can expect from your organization this year.

We are excited to plan an event celebrating the 2017 Solar Eclipse, visible here in Georgia. Another big event will be the annual Peach State Stargaze camping event. Additionally, we hope to host a Boy Scout Merit Badge Clinic for the Space Exploration Merit Badge, attend Fernbank planetarium shows, host Public Nights at the GT Observatory, host Movie Nights, and many other exciting events!
