4 Paws for Ability is an organization based out of Xenia, Ohio that places approximately 100 mobility, hearing, seizure, autism, and emotional assistance dogs a year with children and adults with disabilities. Ohio University students are given the opportunity to foster and/or handle a service dog in training. The goal of this organization is to socialize the service dog in training, educate the public about service dogs, and fundraise for children in need of a service dog.



Membership Requirements:

Please outline the process for becoming a member of this student organization.

1. Students wishing to serve as a Foster, Co-Foster, Co-Handler, Puppy Sitter for a service dog must go through the application process before acceptance as a foster service dog handler to ensure the safety of the dog
a. They must have a minimum of a 2.5 GPA
b. They must live in off-campus housing in pet-friendly living space to foster a dog
2. Students that are unable to foster or handle have the opportunity to help fundraise and come to meetings for puppy play time and learn more about service dogs.
