SustainUNO is a student-driven organization focused on improving sustainability on campus. Mentored by Sarah Burke (Sustainability Coordinator, Office of Sustainability) and Farrah Grant (Project Coordinator, Center for Urban Sustainability), students develop and implement sustainability projects in and around UNO. Students are provided opportunities for internships and volunteer hours.

UNO defines sustainability as using resources wisely and engaging in actions that are environmentally friendly, socially responsible, and financially feasible that benefits present and future generations. The overall mission is to integrate sustainability - the concern for people, the environment, and fiscal responsibility - into everything that UNO does.
SustainUNO was created to establish an organized structure for students interested in making a difference in sustainability. Students have the opportunity to develop their own sustainability programs/projects or they can choose to assist on projects currently underway.
