Welcome to the College of Medicine and Life Sciences Office of Student Affairs student involvement portal.  Student organizations for health professional students are key to personal, professional, and career development. You have the opportunity to participate in and lead student chapters of national medical associations as well as organizations (clubs) related to various medical specialties, community service experiences, inter-professional health activities, and a variety of  special interests. In addition to organizations, you have the opportunity to apply to serve on College- and campus-wide committees with faculty, staff and community members.

The following organizations serve students affiliated with the Health Science Campus and are sponsored by the Office of Student Affairs.  Unless otherwise noted, questions about specific organizations may be directed

Co-curricular activities are important to create well-rounded health care providers and medical researchers. To make this possible, we allow student organizations to make most of their own decisions about student-sponsored activities, using OSA for guidance and resources.

The purpose of OSA is to uphold its mission statement by supporting student organizations and their activities. The office is located on the first floor of the Mulford Library Building. Our specific services include:

Maintaining membership records, constitutions, by-laws and updated rosters

Serving in an advisory capacity to assist with activities/programs, expenditures, and budget procedures

Sponsoring training sessions, officer meetings and a student recognition ceremony

Sponsoring and co-sponsoring interdisciplinary special events

Assisting organizations in applying for additional funding for new or innovative activities/programs

Working with the Student Organizations Advisory Committee to develop policies which regulate student organizations

Allocating funding to organizations for activities and programs

Assisting students in forming recognized organizations

Providing forms listed in the Student Organization Handbook

Maintaining the online Student Activities Events Calendars

Distributing information regarding student events

Managing all reimbursements and purchase orders for student organizations and events
