Welcome to the ACU Melbourne

Ultimate Frisbee Club!

The club is back with a new leadership team and new goals for 2019! 

In Semester 2 (2019) we will be running:

  • TRAINING - Tuesdays 7pm-9pm at Collingwood Little Athletics Centre/George Knott Reserve located in Clifton Hill. Click here to see the location on Google Maps.
  • SOCIAL EVENTS - if you're wanting to make new friends at uni, bond with members of the club, or come along for the fun we will have discounted social events such as bowling, dinners, beach days, bounce, etc. 
  • COMPETITIONS - with enough numbers there is potential to attend competitive and social tournaments/games local in Melbourne. 

If you are interested in training or competing with us, please join the OrgSync club, and then complete the 2019 Club Registration and Medical form which includes a link to the membership fee payment portal. You must complete this form and payment before attending training.

The fee structure for Semester 2 2019* is:

ACU Student: $50 and for Non-ACU students: $60.

If you have never heard of Ultimate Frisbee here is what you need to know: 

Cool stuff:

  • great way to stay active and fit
  • social and competitive 
  • close community so new friendships are a guarantee
  • do not need to have experience to learn - beginners are welcome
  • it is played from social leagues at beginning levels to elite and international levels like representing Australia

Technical stuff:

  • 7 players to a side
  • first team to 15 wins
  • halftime once a team scores 8 goals
  • disc may advance in any direction
  • player may not run with the disc (like netball)
  • player must pass the disc within 10 seconds (like netball)
  • self-officiating 
  • teams switch ends after each score
  • offence completes a pass in opponents end zone

We hope to build a club with growing number of members to compete in university and non-university competitions, while developing some future amazing ultimate life-long Ultimate Frisbee players.
