Potlatch After School Mentoring (CCE Transportation Provided)
Organizational Information: Potlatch School District was awarded a 21st Century Grant and offers after school programming for free to the families of Potlatch School District.
Opportunity Description: The purpose of this project is to help the teens of Potlatch learn simple life skills they may/or may not know. The participants will be able to help educate this teens on concepts such as: cooking, sewing, doing laundry etc. Another project idea is for the teens to create a community garden. This project will entitle the volunteers to be passionate, patient and willing to come back the following week.
Ages of Children/Youth: Students should be aware that they will be working with students ages 6th grade - 12 grade
Location: Transportation will be provided. Please meet in the CUB Lower Level L38 at 3:00 PM to meet with your group. We plan to return to campus around 6:30 PM.
Requirements: Service hours are allocated based on the amount of direct service participation and do not include meeting time and transportation to/from the service site. Students can expect to receive approximately 2 hours of service. Please dress appropriately for working with young teenagers. Please let CCE staff know if you are unable to participate at least 24 hours before the project meeting time.
**A background check is NOT required to participate in this opportunity.
**You will need to bring your Cougar Card to swipe into this project so your service hours can be recorded.**
