News Release: 2020 Stars of Florida Finalists

Mar 18, 2020 by Ronnie Simmons

The Florida FFA Association recently selected 23 student members as finalists in the highly coveted “Stars of Florida” award recognition program.  This program symbolizes the highest competitive recognition for FFA members and their Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) program(s) in seven different categories.  Documents submitted by each candidate (see below) will be evaluated by committee to determine the winner in each area.  Each finalist, their family and agriculture instructor(s) will be recognized and the winners will be named at the 92ndFlorida FFA State Convention & Expo to be held at the Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando this summer.

Due to restrictions in place regarding COVID-19, the Star Tour that typically allows each candidate to interview with a committee has been cancelled.  Instead, each finalist will be required to submit a "virtual tour" document to supplement their original star application.  This printed document should contain 10-15 photos with text captions in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint or similar format.  This document should be of the students own effort and cannot include video.  This supplemental virtual tour must be received by May 1, 2020.

Please see the attached press release for the list of finalists.
