COVID-19 Preparedness

Mar 11, 2020 by Ronnie Simmons

FFA Advisors,

Please find below, an update regarding our response to the COVID-19 outbreak.

We are continually evaluating the COVID-19 situation through guidance offered by the CDC and state health organizations. This means that we are reviewing travel, events and critical deadlines affecting our organization, staff and state officers. At this time, all Florida FFA events remain scheduled with no status change, including upcoming competitive events.

We are paying particular attention to the upcoming travel of the state officer team, including visits to chapter events. To date, we have made no changes. However, we ask that you please notify us of any school or school district communications that would affect state officer visits to your chapter.

With all of our events, we ask that the FFA Advisor please help us in ensuring the health and well-being of your students. If you have a student that is not feeling well or exhibiting any abnormal signs or symptoms, please consult with your school administration and encourage them to take precautions and avoid FFA events and activities.  While at events and activities, please encourage your students to wash their hands often, cover their cough and avoid physical touch and/or extremely close contact when possible.

Last, we ask your help in assuring that our members, families and advisors know we are evaluating and taking precautions during this uncertain time. We will always act in the interest of the health and safety for everyone taking part in our events.

Please contact me if you have additional questions or if our staff can be of assistance to you. As a reminder, we are also monitoring general updates regarding COVID-19 at www.FFA.org/preparedness.
