2019 FL FFA Award Application Review

Florida FFA is seeking thirty (30) teachers, administrators, and industry professionals to participate in the judging process for the Agricultural Proficiency Award program and the National Chapter Award program.  As you know, proficiency awards recognize outstanding student achievement in their supervised agricultural experience programs.  These programs range from production agriculture to research and development and many diverse areas in between that lead to productive careers in agriculture.  There are over 48 different awards available to FFA members throughout the state of Florida.  The National Chapter Award program recognizes FFA chapters that successfully complete an annual Program of Activities (POA), which includes a series of activities designed to encourage its members to grow as individuals, to work as part of a team and to serve others.

To ensure that the most deserving students are selected, we need your help.  Along with other industry representatives and teachers, you will be asked to review the content of each application in an assigned area and score the application using the appropriate rubric.  In addition, we will ask teachers to make comments for improvement.

The application judging process will begin Sunday morning, April 7th at 10:00AM and conclude Monday, April 8th at 3:00PM.  The event will be held at the Florida FFA Leadership Training Center (LTC) in Haines City.  Lodging accommodations and four meals will be paid for by the Florida FFA Association.

If you would like to be a part of this process please register by Monday, March 25th.  If someone you know is interested in serving in this capacity, please forward this email to them so that they can fill out the volunteer form.  Those who are selected to participate will be notified via email by March 29th.

Orientation:  10:00 AM to 12:00 PM (Publix Hall)

Judging:  1:00 PM to 6:00 PM (Presidents Hall)

Dinner:  6:00 PM to 7:00 PM (Publix Hall)

Judging:  7:00 PM to 9:00 PM (Presidents Hall)

Monday, April 8, 2019

Breakfast:  7:30 AM to 8:30 AM (Publix Hall)

Judging:  8:30 AM to 11:00 AM (Presidents Hall)

Lunch:  11:00 AM to 11:30 AM (Publix Hall)

Judging:  11:30 AM to approx. 3:00 PM (Presidents Hall)
