2017 Foundation Summer Leadership Conference Cancelled - 2018 Information Included
Jun 30, 2017 by Michael J Rogalsky
The 2017 Florida FFA Foundation Summer Leadership Conference has been cancelled due to lack of participation. As I mentioned in my previous emails, I do know and understand that the camp was scheduled during the first week back at school for most teachers and some students, so we were expecting the possibility of low participation. Since we do use outside organizations and facilitators, it was just impossible to host this year’s event without meeting the minimum number of participants. Any payments that have already been made to us, will be refunded to the school as soon as possible.
Here is the GREAT NEWS! The Summer Leadership Conference has been rescheduled for May 28-31, 2018. With most school districts in the state completing the school year prior to May 25th, we feel this is a great time to host this event. Please mark your calendars and save the date. More information including registration, facilitator announcements and a conference agenda will be released in August.
Any student who received a scholarship from the Florida FFA Alumni this year to attend the Summer Leadership Conference will be able to use the scholarship at the May 28-31 Conference. I will reopen the foundation scholarship process for this camp along with registration in August.
I hope each of you see this as a better date offering for our FFA Members! We look forward to hosting them at the Leadership Training Center in May. Stay tuned for more details in August!
