Reminder: FFA Capitol Day
Apr 30, 2017 by Ronnie Simmons
Tomorrow is FFA Capitol Day presented by Florida Association of Agricultural Educators!
For those that registered to participate, here are a few reminders:
The welcome session will be held in the Governor's Cabinet Meeting Room. When you arrive at the Capitol building, you will check in through the security checkpoint and proceed to the Cabinet Meeting Room which is downstairs on the lower level. Public parking should be available at the Kleman Parking Plaza downtown. Remember that everyone must check in through the security checkpoint (just like at an airport). The fewer personal belongings, the quicker the security screening process will go.
By now you should have scheduled visits with your elected officials. During our morning session, we will hear from several speakers who will provide us with tips and suggestions on how to get the most out of each of your visits.
As a general rule, the Blue Jacket is highly recognized in the Capitol as being worn by young men and women who are courteous, professional and respectful. Please help ensure that we live up to the expectation that the Blue Jacket is known for. It is important that we remain professional as we mingle in the hallways and move throughout the building. This includes refraining from loud conversations or actions that could be disturbing to others. We know that Florida FFA members will live up to these expectations and that we will make a great impression on those who will meet our members tomorrow!
Below is the agenda for day. Please know that the schedule is very fluid and is likely to change as we interact with our invited guests.
- 10:00 AM - Welcome and Overview of the Day (Cabinet Meeting Room - Capitol Lower Level)
- 11:00 AM (immediately following morning session) - Group Photo (Historic Capitol East Steps)
- 12:00 PM - Lunch (on your own)
- 1:00 PM - Scheduled Legislative Visits (on your own)
