ECU Leads Application 2016-2017

All applicants should complete the ECU Leads application and submit one letter of reference.

Program requirements (for those choosing to live in Jarvis Hall):

  • Apply for housing here: http://www.ecu.edu/cs-studentaffairs/campusliving/newstudents.cfm
  • The curriculum consists of participating in an organized leadership program and also participating in activities within the residence hall (socials, educational programs, lectures, community service activities.) Detailed information on the leadership curriculum will be given to residents when they move into Jarvis in August.
  • Enroll in the Leadership Studies Minor (starting with LDSP 1000, Introduction to Leadership Studies), schedule is TBD.  You will be pre-registered for this course.
  • Students will be enrolled in a common section of English 1100 unless he/she has received class credit for English 1100.
  • Maintain a semester GPA of 2.75 and cumulative GPA of 2.75.
  • Maintain an acceptable level of conduct while residing in Jarvis Hall.
  • Move into Jarvis Hall on Wednesday, August 17, 2016.
  • Attend and participate in the ECU Leads retreat from Thursday, August 18 - Friday, August 19, 2016.
  • If living in Jarvis Hall, you are not eligible to participate in Camp Pirates or ECU Band due to date conflicts.
  • Attend 5 leadership programs within Jarvis Hall per semester.
  • Attend and participate in all ECU Leads programming:
    • Attend and participate in ECU Leads retreat from Thursday, August 18 - Friday, August 19, 2016
    • Attend and participate in cohort meetings throughout the Fall and Spring semester
    • Common read (students will be given more information about the leadership book during the summer)
    • Attend three programs through the academic year related to each stage of the program
