Welcome to the Griffith Badminton Association.

The Griffith Badminton Association (GBA) is a registered Griffith University Sporting Club dedicated to providing students, alumni and the public a community friendly atmosphere to enjoy the wonderful sport of Badminton. Focused on the student experience, Club members offer a welcoming and sociable environment for new and existing members with regular training sessions held out of the Mount Gravatt Rec Hall.

The GBA welcomes all players of mixed ages and skills; from beginners to competitive levels. The club aims to involve players and teams in local competitions as well as Uni Games and various other external local events around Brisbane.

The Club is always open and keen to include new members interested in the Sport of Badminton.

1. To promote the games & sports of badminton;
2. To allow university students/ staff to met and socialize with others with whom they are unlikely to come into contact through academic life;
3. Provide badminton skills training and physical training to improve better shape and relaxation;
4. Provide opportunities for member to participate in the university games and regular competition through external sport leagues by Queensland Badminton Association tournaments

The Griffith University Badminton Club run their own badminton training & practice session on a Friday & Saturday during training times at the Mt Gravatt Recreation Hall. These are open to all members of the club to compete in and improve their badminton game. The club also compete regularly in the QLD badminton association tournaments, Australian University Games (Griffith University combine with our Gold Coast campus and send a female & male team to compete).

External Competitions

The Griffith Badminton Club is affiliated with the Queensland Badminton Association. The club competes in external sport leagues hosted by Queensland Badminton Association throughout the year.

Training Information

What are your current semester training times? What days of the week do you train? Where do you train? If you have more than one session - what is the different break down of these sessions?

Friday 8-10 pm (training & practices);
Saturday 5-7 pm (advance training and practice games simulation);
Griffith University, Mt Gravatt Recreation Hall (next to the swimming pool & gym) – Sports Rd, Mt Gravatt Campus.
