The purpose of the Biology Student Organization is to nurture its members into well rounded, knowledgeable, and competitive scholars. The organization serves as a medium that fosters the intellect, cultivates the potential, and elicits the professional mannerism necessary for success to be eminent. We serve as the junction for like and kindred minded students interested in pursuing a career in biology, biomedical, and agricultural sciences to network and associate with one another. The organization services its members and the members in turn will service the community or by some avenue promote the advancement and/or betterment of mankind. The organization will cater to the diverse aspirations of the students enrolled in the College of Science and Technology. This organization promotes all biological and biomedical related graduate studies, professional studies, and career opportunities as they relate to the goals and desires of the members. Today’s organizational members are tomorrow’s physicians, scientists, educators, technologists and leading professionals.

Selection Process/Membership Requirements

Please list information about the organizations selection process and include membership requirements if applicable.

Membership into the organization is extended to all who are enrolled full time at Florida A&M University. Students that are welcomed for membership must meet and maintain the university’s requirements for membership into organizations. This includes but is not limited to maintaining a GPA of 2.5 or higher, and taking at least 12 credit hours a semester. If the university’s regulations regarding membership into organizations changes then the requirements for membership into the Biology Student Organization changes by the same standards.
