The Fraternity & Sorority Life Office, under the area of Student Affairs, recognizes that a partnership exists between the social fraternities/sororities and California University of Pennsylvania.  The office supports an atmosphere for leadership development, intellectual achievement, sound business practices, safe housing (for those housed) and conduct consistent with responsible behavior and citizenship. The results of said support will be an environment that facilitates the chapters’ development of responsible and successful students.

Greek Life Offers Opportunities for Growth

Cal U offers a rich tradition of fraternities (Greek letter organizations for men) and sororities (Greek letter organizations for women). All emphasize:

  • Scholarship
  • Leadership
  • Community service
  • Social activities

Membership Requirements

To be eligible for membership in a fraternity or sorority, you must have completed a minimum of 12 credits (not including college in the high school credits) and have a minimum 2.50 overall grade point average.

Some of the organizations' requirements are above the University requirements. Check with the Fraternity and Sorority Life Office or the respective organization for more information.

No Hazing Allowed!

Cal U does not allow hazing of any type. All associate members must attend a workshop where hazing will be discussed along with Pennsylvania hazing legislation and Cal U's hazing statement. This statement must be read and signed by all associate members.
