Senator Resigns, Position Available

(FRESNO, Calif.) Associated Students, Inc. Senator for the College of Health and Human Services, Erica Sanchez, submitted her resignation via e-mail on Thursday, opening a Senator position on the ASI Senate. 

Former ASI Senator Sanchez explained, “Next semester will be my last as an undergraduate and have a lot on my plate [and want] to make sure I finish with great success.” She added, “I want to thank everyone for a great experience this past semester and it was really nice working with everyone.”

The Senator for the College of Health and Human Services serves as a representative for students whose majors fall within the college. According to Institutional Research, Assessment and Planning this accounted for 4,325 students during the Fall 2010 semester.

Senators are responsible for attending Senate and committee meetings and serving eight hours each month. Senate meetings are scheduled for alternating Wednesdays at 4:00 p.m. All Senate terms end on May 31, 2011.

Interested applicants are encouraged to submit an application as soon as possible to Associated Students, Inc. The ASI President and Personnel Committee will review qualified applications and submit a recommendation to the Senate.
