A presentation for an audience of faculty, student advisors, and student affairs staff on how low-cost, seemingly small interventions can have a big impact on student retention and success.  The presentation would focus on key programs that students respond well to (and why they do) and highlights the ways in which well-intended practices can be misapplied to lead to adverse effects. This presentation offers examples that would be pertinent to both student affairs staff (admissions, orientation, advising) as well as faculty and academic affairs administrators. We will close with a 10- to 15-minute Q&A.
